Young Miles Morales surfaced as Spider-Man some time after the death of Peter Parker, which many initially considered to be in bad taste, but eventually warmed up to him. He was approved as the Official New Spider-Man by S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Peter Parker from another dimension, given web shooters and blessing by Peter's loved ones, and trained by Captain America. He serves as an icon for non-white children, as well as a very controversial character to take up the mantle of Spider-Man. He was bitten by a radioactive spider similar to Peter, but was given noteworthy differences in his powers. His strength and agility are much the same, but his Spider-Sense isn't as strong and he can camouflage himself into his surroundings and can paralyze enemies with an electrical "Venom Strike".
