I've been constantly annoyed by the rants that people place regarding the cast of Sonic X voicing for the Sonic video games. "It never ends!" I thought to myself. "People need to shut the hell up about their problems." By pure coincidence, I studied up on the whole situation regarding Ryan Drummond, original voice of Sonic the Hedgehog. Apparently, Sega cast the 4Kids voices starting with Shadow the Hedgehog WITHOUT CONTACTING HIM. (I used all capitals for emphasis)

Drummond actually liked Jason Griffith's voice, but didn't like that Sega didn't inform him. People constantly berate the company for having horrible casts, or the actors themselves for lack up experience. Bulls***, every actor gets proper training at least once in their lives. They're blaming 4Kids when they should blame Sega for bringing this out of the blue.

So, I see why they have a right to be upset, but they're taking it out on the wrong people. They've tried several attempts to get Drummond back on the air, only for it to be ignored by Sonic's mascot creators. It kinda seems like Sega doesn't try to appeal to the fans anymore. They're just blending new styles for Sonic to make themselves look good. I mean, look at Sonic 06. That was a failure in the Box Office. Game Makers are saying that Sonic himself is losing his touch because of Sega.

But back to my main point, Sega is to blame, not the voicing industry. If people really want Drummond back, fine. I honestly don't care who plays the voices, just as long as the games are worth my while.

PS: Who thinks Yuri Lowenthal (Sasuke/Ben 10) would be good to be Sonic?
